E-Bishi and I want to attend the Port Con formal ball this year, but what to wear? We don’t have any formal cosplay, and who wants to go to a con event dressed as normies? Then I got this idea: later this year, at Connecticon, we’ll be dressing as Miaka and Tamahome from Fushigi Yuugi. The reference picture to the side here is one of my favorite artbook images of this couple, and looking at it one day I became inspired: why not base an original design for formal attire on this? Tamahome will be a black Mandarin shirt with red trim, black pants, and dress shoes. Miaka will be in a red Mandarin dress, red shoes, and ribbons in her hair. Ta da! Problem solved.
