Information:
Songstress Yuna is, strangely enough, one of my favorite costumes to date. I say this is unusual because so many things went wrong with this costume the first time around, but I still love it nonetheless. When I first wore it to Connecticon in 2004, the boot covers didn't work properly, the fabric used for the ruffles wouldn't take the dye, the necklace came a week too late, my mom forgot to bring me my colored contacts, the braid wasn't done the way I wanted it, and not only did my mom not put the pleats in the skirt, but it didn't even fit, so we had to cut a slit in the back and fold the extra fabric over the waistband to cover my bum. Despite ALL this, it won a prize at the Connecticon 2004 costume contest.

Since then I reworked most of the costume for Anime Boston 2007 and the Cosplay Musical at Connecticon 2007. I now have the necklace and some store-bought boots that work PERFECTLY as well as a wig (since my hair grew a good bit in 3 years!) and I completely remade the skirt and braid and added some much needed fasteners to the shirt (no more safety pins keeping this costume together! Except for the one securing the braid to the wig...). I’m really proud of how this costume came out, though I have to admit I’m also kind of getting tired of it. I love it to death, but I’ve also worn it so much. From now on, unless I’m asked to wear it again for an event (like the Cosplay Musical or Cosplay Chess) consider it retired.
